Guest Speaker, Irena Balzekas – “Integrating ambulatory intracranial electrophysiology with behavioral tracking to untangle seizures and mood”

We were fortunate enough to have Ms. Irena Balzekas as one of our guest speakers at our April 8th Center meeting.

Bio: Irena Balzekas is an MD/PhD candidate in the Bioelectronics, Neurophysiology, and Engineering Laboratory at the Mayo Clinic. Her research, with thesis mentor Dr. Greg Worrell, combines behavioral assessments and invasive brain recordings in patients with epilepsy to explore electrophysiologic correlates of psychiatric symptoms.
