On September 29, 2022 we welcomed Dr. Periannan Senapathy, Founder, President, and CEO of Genome International, Madison, Wisconsin. His talk titled Natural intelligence in genomes: Its origin at the dawn of life on earth can be viewed here.

Abstract: Artificial intelligence is man-made. Natural intelligence that occurs inherently in living organisms is extremely more complex than Artificial Intelligence. The origin of natural intelligence has been a mystery. My research shows that the genomes of all animals that encode complex structures, functions and intelligence could originate directly from the billions of split genes that inherently occurred in the random DNA sequences in prebiotic chemistry on the primitive earth. Ample evidence from the modern genome data of numerous organisms, and from the classical morphological and fossil details, fully corroborate this theory.

During the 2021 Summer, we held a speaker series with the goal of continuing to foster partnerships with clinical partners, industry leaders, and University engineering/health faculty and students through invited talks that encourage relationships across biomedicine, technology, clinical research, and artificial intelligence.  You can view these individual talks below.

We were fortunate enough to have Ms. Irena Balzekas as one of our guest speakers at our April 8th Center meeting.

Bio: Irena Balzekas is an MD/PhD candidate in the Bioelectronics, Neurophysiology, and Engineering Laboratory at the Mayo Clinic. Her research, with thesis mentor Dr. Greg Worrell, combines behavioral assessments and invasive brain recordings in patients with epilepsy to explore electrophysiologic correlates of psychiatric symptoms.
